  • Saint Hierarch Nicholas celebrated at the Metropolitan Cathedral

The commemoration of one of the greatest saints of Orthodoxy, Hierarch Nocholas of Myra in Lycia, was celebrated with Divine Liturgy at the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral, by His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, assisted by numerous priests and deacons, in the presence of multitude of church-goers.

After the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Vladimir and the clergymen celebrated Thanks-giving Te-Deum service, praying to Saint Hierarch Nicholas to intercede before Lord for all Christians.

In their word of guidance to the church-goers, His Eminence said that the day of commemoration of Saint Nicholas revokes especially warm memories from childhood, when they, as small child, used to go to church with their parents and grandparents, to pray to this great saint and listen about his life, his kindness, obedience, and love for the truth with which Saint Nicholas managed to bring light and hope even to the most sad hearts, casting special love for the little ones.

Besides, His Eminence Vladimir confessed that they have special spiritual love for Saint Nicholas, because they received the name of the Holy Hierarch at baptismal. This is why, said the Metropolitan, they never hesitate to kneel in prayer to Lord Jesus and Saint Nicholas, asking for his holy intercession before Lord, for the right-faithful people.

On this feast, Archpriest Vadim Cheibas, the diocesan secretary, congratulated His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, on behalf of all concelebrating priests, wishing the hierarch long live, that All-Good God maintain them as a kind and worthy arch-pastor guiding the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

The celebration ended with the Metropolitan distributing gifts to all children who were present at the Divine Liturgy.
