     mitropolia

On 27th October, H.E. Metropolitan Vladimir officiated the Divine Liturgy in the church of St Parascheva in Straseni town, celebrating the Patron’s Feast of the parish and the town.

The Metropolitan was assisted at the Liturgy by H.G. Bishop Ioan of Soroca and Metropolitan Vicar, Archpr. Vadim Cheibas, the metropolitan secretary, Archpr. Victor Mihalachi, Dean of Straseni District, Archpr. Vetcislav Cazacu, the rector of St. Parascheva church of Straseni, and numerous priests and deacons.

Along with the church-goers, Mr. Mihail Popa, the president of Straseni District, and several representatives of the local public authorities, prayed at the Divine Service.

At the Small Entrance, His Eminence Metropolitan awarded church distinctions to several priests, in sign of appreciation of their efforts in their church service and social ministry, for the glory of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

After the Liturgy, a Te-Deum Thanks-giving service was officiated, with prayers to Saint Parascheva, the Protector of Moldova and the Heavenly Patron of Straseni town, and the Metropolitan congratulated the parishioners on this beautiful holiday, wishing them to follow the teaching of the Holy Gospel.

Father Vetcislav Cazacu, the church rector, thanked the Archpastor and the Vicar Bishop for parental care and for sharing their prayers with the community, and made a precious present to Metropolitan Vladimir and Bishop Ioan – each got a set of archpastoral vestments designed and made at the parish’s church vestments workshop.

In the end, the Metropolitan distributed icons of Holy Hierach Gavriil (Banulescu-Bodoni) from Capriana Monastery and of Blessed Agafia of Cuselauca Monastery, recently canonized by the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
