  • On the 13th Sunday after Pentecost, Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Monastery of Curchi

    26 August 2018, on the 13th Sunday after Pentecost, with the blessing of Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova, outstanding holy shrines were brought from Xenophontos Monastery in Mount Athos to the Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery in Curchi: Panagia Odigitria Icon of the Mother of God and shrines with the particles of Holy Great Martyrs George the Victory Bearer and Demetrius the Myrrh Streamer.

    On this this occasion of utmost spiritual joy, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the central church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in the monastery of Curchi. Concelebrating to the metropolitan was His Grace Siluan, Vicar Bishop of the Metropolis of Moldova and hegumen of the Monastery of Curchi. The hierarchs were assisted by numerous priests and deacons, including missionaries arrived from Italy and Greece.

    Hundreds of pilgrims arrived in the monastery to participate in the service and utter prayers to the Lord and His Saints.

    During the Service, Metropolitan Vladimir ordained Constantin Pituscan, graduate of the Orthodox Theological Academy of Moldova, into the dignity of deacon.

    After the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Vladimir addressed archpastoral message to the liturgical community, speaking about the holy shrines that visited this Garden of the Mother of God in Curchi Monastery.

    His Grace Siluan thanked the metropolitan for conducting the prayers and archpastoral encouragement.
