  • Nativity of the Theotokos Church in Racaria community, Riscani region – in holiday garments

    Tuesday, 7th November 2017, in the very morning the parishioners of Racaria community, Riscani region, gathered to greet cordially the arch-pastor of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, who officiated the consecration of the church and celebrated the Divine Liturgy.

    The metropolitan was assisted at the service by archpriest Sveatoslav Ungureanu, District Dean of Riscani circumscription, archpriest Teodor Pelin, District Dean of Criuleni circumscription, priest Constantin Riciu, parish rector, and a synax of other priests, who prayed together with numerous parishioners and guests.

    During the Small Entrance of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir advanced fr. Constantin Riciu into the rank of archpriest and awarded him the right of wearing Epigonation and jewelled Cross, in sign of appreciation of dedicated efforts for the parish administration and church ministry.

    The Dean of Riscani church circumscription, archpriest Sveatoslav Unghureanu, was conferred the third degree ecclesiastical order of “Church Merit”, and, on his report, numerous priests from Riscani circumscription were awarded church distinctions.

    After the Liturgy, the praying community followed the Metropolitan in a procession around the church, with hymns and Gospel Readings, and then Thanks-Giving prayers were sung.

    In the pastoral message, Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated the parishioners and thanked them for their constant support and efforts for the prosperity of their shrine.

    Brother Vasile Pascari, one of the church ctitors, was awarded the “Church Merit” order, and other ctitors were handed metropolitan diplomas, in recognition of their support and care for the parish.

    Later in the day, Metropolitan Vladimir and archpriest Sveatoslav Ungureanu visited the church under construction in Nihoreni community and the Lyceum “Liviu Damian” in Riscan town.
