National Scientific Conference “THE ORTHODOX CHURCH OF MOLDOVA AND THE STATE. FAITH AND KNOWLEDGE” was held on 11th October 2016 in the Blue Chamber of the Academy of Science of Moldova. The conference was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Moldova. The event was organized by the Academy of science of Moldova, in partnership with the Metropolis of Chisinau and All Moldova.
The Conference started with an exhibition “The Orthodox Church of Moldova and the state. Faith and knowledge” (author: Eugenia TOFAN, Head of Press Service of the ASM).
A book exhibition was held under the supervision of the authors: Constantin MANOLACHE, PhD, Director of the Public Institution “Central Scientific Library Andrei Lupan” and HG NICODIM, Bishop of Edinet and Briceni.
The Conference Plenary Session was inaugurated by Academician Gheorghe Duca, President of the ASM and His Eminence Vladimir (Dr. Nicolae Cantarean), Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova.
The following presentations were made at the tree sections of the Plenary Session: Relations between the Church and the State; Activity of the Church in the legal sphere of the Republic of Moldova; Theology in the context of modern science.
Clergy of the Metropolis of Moldova and academics participated at the Conference.
