  • Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Theotokos parish in Popestii de Sus, Drochia on the 19th Sunday after the Pentecost.

    07 October 2018, the 19th Sunday after the Pentecost. Parishioners of the Nativity of the Theotokos church in Popestii de Sus community, Drochia region, experienced utmost spiritual joy, uniting in prayer with the first hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, Metropolitan Vladimir, during the Divine Liturgy.

    His Eminence Vladimir was assisted at the Divine Service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary, Archpriest Pavel Vuluta, Dean of Drochia church circumscription, archpriest Grigore Lacusta, parish rector, and numerous other priests and deacons.

    A number of clergymen, including archpriest Grigore Lacusta, the rector of the parish of the Nativity of the Theotokos, were awarded high church distinctions by the metropolitan.

    During the Divine Liturgy, the first year student at the Theological Academy of Chisinau, Iulian Lai, was ordained deacon and appointed to ministry in the Meeting of the Lord church in Chisinau.

    A Cross procession was made round the church after the Liturgy, with hymns singing and Gospel readings.

    In sign of gratitude and high appreciation, the church ctitor, Mr. Igor Danii, was awarded the third category metropolitan order of Church Merit.

    At the end of the celebration, Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated the praying community and distributed icons and prayer books to numerous children present in the church.
