His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir addressed a message expressing gratefulness to all those who supported him in the hard moments of parting from his reposed father, servant of God Vasile Cantarean:
Beloved in Christ brothers and sisters,
These days I took leave of my father, recently reposed servant of God Vasile. It was a true ordeal, and the sadness of the parting still touches the soul. However, I found much soothing and support in the messages of condolence received from so many people of good will, who by word and action managed to inspire consolation and strengthening so necessary in such moments of hardship.
Please let me thank the top officials of the Republic of Moldova, the members of the Parliament and Government, of diplomatic missions accredited in our country, academic and university environment, monastic elders, clergy and laity of the Metropolis of Chisinau and All Moldova, headed by Their Graces Bishops, the clergy of sister-churches, and to all people of good will who have been with me in their thoughts and prayers.
Dear brothers, thanking You for Your attention, compassion, and sincerity, I will ask You to continue commemorating in Your prayers the recently reposed servant of God Vasile, for may the Lord forgive his trespasses and count him with the blessed ones.
With respect and gratefulness,
Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova
