  • His Eminence Vladimir visited the Faculty of Letters of Moldova State University

    Faculty of Letters

His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, assisted by a group of clergy, celebrated the service of sanctification and blessing of Block 1 of the Faculty of Letters of Moldova State University. This event was part of the Week of Orthodox Youth agenda.

University administration, along with faculty professors and students, gathered in the chamber of Grigore Vieru, to participate at the blessing service celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir. BA and MA students of Christian Spirituality Program participated in the event. After the service, His Eminence addressed  a message to the pious audience, mentioning the historical importance of this building, and also referring to beautiful initiatives of researching linguistic aspects in Christian literature and teaching.

Depute Rectors Mihail Revencu and Otilia Dandara, and the Faculty Dean, Mrs. Claudia Cemartan, responded with their greeting messages.

The audience then headed to the Library of Religious Books, inaugurated at the University for the purpose of providing learning support for all those involved in the research of religious issues, especially topics of Orthodox Christianity.

It should be mentioned that the library includes over 2000 books, containing encyclopedias, dictionaries, researches, worship books, etc. A special compartment is the Rare Book section. All these titles are being catalogued and digitalized, and will be included as separate collection into the Library of MSU.
