The Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel are much venerated by Orthodox Christians. Numerous churches in Moldova bear the names of these Heavenly Powers. These days, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir shared the spiritual joy of church-goers of Vaseni and Sociteni villages in Ialoveni raion – both of these parishes celebrated their patron’s feast on the 21st of November – the feast of Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel and all Heavenly Powers. As His Eminence Vladimir has a very tight liturgical schedule, he visited these parishes several days after their patron’s feast.
Thus, the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel church in Vaseni, celebrating its 100th anniversary, was visited by, His Eminence Vladimir on Monday, 25th November. The hierarch celebrated the Divine Liturgy and shared the joy with the Ialoveni church circumscription dean, Mitred Archpriest Anatolie Stefanov and the parish rector, Mitred Archpriest Serghei Turcanu. Numerous Christians, including raion and village authorities, were present at the service, praying for the mercy of the Lord and heavenly protection of the Holy Archangels.
On Tuesday, 26th November, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir was warmly welcomed in the Archangels’ church of Sociteni village. The hierarch celebrated the Divine Liturgy together with fr. Anatolie Stefanov, Ialoveni district dean, fr. Marcel Drobot, the parish rector, and numerous clerics of Ialoveni church circumscription.
Numerous clerics and lay Christians were rewarded with various church distinctions, in sign of appreciation of their efforts and prominent activity for the prosperity of faith and holy shrines in their parishes and in the whole country.
The Hierarch congratulated the rectors and the church-goers on their patron saint’s holiday and wished them heavenly protection of the Holy Archangels, and strong faith, expressed in God-pleasing acts.
