  • His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir made an arch-pastoral visit to the parishioners of Singera, Chisinau municipality on the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God

    Tuesday, 28 August 2018, on the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir made an arch-pastoral visit to the parishioners of Singera, Chisinau municipality.

    The metropolitan was greeted and welcomed early morning at the gate of the churchyard by the parish rector, archpriest Pavel Kirilov and numerous children dressed up in traditional costumes.

    Metropolitan Vladimir, assisted by a big group of clergymen, officiated the consecration of the Holy Table in the renovated church, and then celebrated the Divine Liturgy.

    Among the clergymen praying with the metropolitan at the Liturgy were archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary, archpriest Pavel Borsevschi, District Dean of the 2nd church circumscription of Chisinau municipality, archpriest Pavel Kirilov, parish rector, and numerous other priests and deacons.

    The Dormition of the Mother of God church in Singera marked its 222nd anniversary on this day, the clergy praying among several hundreds of church-goers, uttering litanies for peace, prosperity, and well-being in the entire country.

    Present among the liturgical community was Mr. Igor Dodon, President of the Republic of Moldova, accompanied by representatives of local public authorities.

    During the service, Metropolitan Vladimir awarded to father Pavel Kirilov the Order of Holy Hierarch Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni, in sign of appreciation of zealous efforts and prosperous ministry in the service of the Orthodox Faith in Moldova.

    Thanks-giving prayers followed after the Liturgy, and His Eminence Vladimir handed arch-pastoral diplomas to numerous parish ctitors, and icons and prayer books to the children and adults present at the service.

    The metropolitan congratulated the parish on their anniversary and Patron Feast, after which was invited to visit the parish Sunday School constituted in honour of Priest Alexei Mateevici.
