On the 24th Sunday after the Pentecost, on the Feast of the Entrance into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the parish of the representation of the Orthodox Church of Moldova in Moscow.

Metropolitan Vladimir, the rector of this parish, was greeted with much spiritual joy by the clerics and the parishioners of the church.

Talking about the Feast of the Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple, Metropolitan Vladimir mentioned: “The Gospel reading we have just listened to, was established to be read out on the feasts dedicated to our Most Holy Lady Theotokos. However, today, on this holyday of the Entry into the Temple of the Mother of the Lord, this Gospel has a very special focus, revealing the relation between Virgin Mary and the Word of God”. The Metropolitan underlined the important role the Theotokos played in the salvation of the mankind.

“The Feast of the Entry of the Mother of God into the Temple calls all Christians to spiritual readiness for the Nativity of the Lord, showing that any meeting between man and God in a major event of celebration requires preparing, utmost attention both in spiritual and bodily matter”, mentioned the Metropolitan.

During the Divine Liturgy, many church-goers took Communion on this first and most important celebration of the Nativity Fast – Feast of the Entrance into the Temple of the Mother of God.

Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated the Christians on this beautiful holiday, noting their remarkable unity and permanent love for the holy matter, expressed in Christian deeds supporting the perpetuation of our holy values, even if they are very far away from home.
