Considering the alarming growth of drug consume in our country, both among adults and young people, the Metropolis of Chisinau and All Moldova, greets the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova to stimulate parishes and other institutions to participate in the prevention and elimination of this social disease. Thus, under this initiative, the Metropolis will collaborate with the Ministry, informing the parishioners about the danger of drugs administration, spiritual and social consequences of this vice, and about the need to educate young generations in the spirit of healthy life and obedience to the national legislation.
The Metropolis supports the idea of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to join efforts in combating this devastating vice, contributing in this way to the development of a healthy and integral society.
According to the information provided by the Republican Narcological Dispensary of the Ministry of Health, 8960 drug consumers are registered with the Dispensary, including 131 persons under 18. However, according to unofficial data, the number of drug consumers is about 15 000.
