  • Consecration of St. George Church in the community of Bic, Chisinau municipality

    Monday, 6th November, 2017, on the Feast of the Icon of the Mother of God “Of all those in sorrow”, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy among the parishioners of Holy Great-Martyr George Church in the community of Bic, Chisinau Municipality.

    The arch-pastor was assisted in the Divine Service by archpriest Vadim Cheibas, Metropolitan Secretary and Dean of Sector 1 Chisinau circumscription, archpriest Iurie Zagnat, Dean of Sector 4 Chisinau circumscription, archpriest Eugen Ionascu, parish rector, and a synax of priests and deacons.

    Before the Liturgy, the Metropolitan and the concelebrating clergy officiated the service of Consecration of the Holy Table of the new-built church.

    During the Small Entrance, archpriest Eugen Ionascu, was rewarded by the Metropolitan with the right of wearing a jewelled cross and mitra, in sign of high arch-pastoral appreciation of devoted ministry and considerable efforts in the edification of the new church.

    During the Liturgy, Metropolitan Vladimir consecrated graduate of the Theological Academy, Alexandru Vascan, into the dignity of deacon, appointing the young cleric to ministry in the Holy Three Hierarchs Chapel of the Academy of Orthodox Theology in Chisinau.

    Thanks-giving prayers followed the Divine Service, after which the praying community followed the Metropolitan and clergy in a hymn-singing and Gospel-reading procession around the church.

    His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir congratulated in the arch-pastoral message all the parishioners on this significant event in their parish life, underlining that a new page in their parish history had been turned over with today’s historical Liturgy.
