On this Great Feast, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau, assisted by clergymen and numerous church-goers.
This Feast’s service is unique, as during the Matins Service before the Divine Liturgy, a cross embellished with flowers is brought into the center of the church, where it is laid on the central tetrapod for the worship of the Christians, reminding them of the importance of the Life-Giving Cross in the act of salvation of the right-faithful people.
At this Divine Liturgy, deacon Mihail Borta, graduate of Cluj-Napoca (Romania) Department of Orthodox Theology, was ordained priest and appointed to serve at the Meeting of the Lord church, Chisinau.
On this God-blessed occasion, the Arch-pastor wished father Mihail to bear with dignity and worthiness the cross of priesthood, working and fighting with spiritual arms for the salvation of the Christians entrusted to his pasturing.
Priest Mihail thanked His Eminence for the trust to which he was dignified, ensuring the Metropolitan that he will do his best to become a worthy servant of the Holy Altar, working for the good and prosperity of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, and for the salvation of the faithful flock.
After the Liturgy, the Hierarch celebrated a Thanks-giving Te-Deum, and later congratulated the parishioners on this bright holiday, talking to them about the outstanding significance of this day, after which he distributed crosses that had been blessed at the Lord’s Tomb in Jerusalem.
