On the feast of the Synaxis of the Holy Prophet and Forerunner John the Baptist, Archpastors of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, headed by His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the church of St. John the Baptist of Comrat.
Numerous priests and deacons from Cahul and Comrat diocese and from the whole country participated in the service, along with the bishops and the Metropolitan.
His Grace Petru, Bishop of Ungheni and Nisporeni was represented at the service by the diocesan secretary Archimandrite Ioan (Mosnegutu) – the elder monk of Hirbovat monastery.
After the Liturgy, His Eminence Vladimir, accompanied by all hierarchs, priests, deacons, and lay believers present at the event, went in a procession around the church, reading Gospel fragments, and the Hierarch celebrated a Thanks-Giving Te-Deum service.
In the end, the Metropolitan spoke to the faithful community, congratulating them on this blessed occasion, calling the believers of Comrat to continue acting with devotion and faith, towards the fulfillment of God’s will. His Grace Bishop Anatolie of Cahul and Comrat cordially thanked His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir, on behalf of all those present.
Then the Metropolitan and the Arch-pastors spoke to the representatives of the local public administration, who thanked them for the beautiful service and expressed their hope of more frequent organization of such God-pleasing events in Comrat.
