In the morning of the 17th of January, His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir met His Excellence Mr. Enrico Munziata, the Italian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, discussing the situation of Moldovan communities in this country and the perspectives of the development of cultural and social relations between two peoples. In this context, His Eminence Vladimir mentioned that the Metropolitan and the orthodox Christians from Moldova are very grateful to Italian citizens for their support and for the conditions Italy provides to help Moldovans receive spiritual food they need so much while being away from home.
In his turn, Mr. Nunziata thanked the Metropolitan for warm welcome, and mentioned that he was personally convinced of the benevolence, hospitality, and diligence of Moldovans, and that he wishes that the friendly relations between the two peoples are further maintained in this close and prodigious manner.
Later in the day, His Eminence met with His Excelence Mr. Artur Michalski, Ambassador of Poland to our country, discussing about the multi-centuries collaboration between our countries, and further opportunities in this area. The Hierarch showed interest in the situation of our numerous orthodox community in Poland, and about the attitude of the authorities in this sense.
Mr. Ambassador mentioned that Poland continues to maintain its open and welcoming position to all its friends, underlining that the development of relations with the peoples with whom Poland has historical links, is great honour for the Polish people.
